Det endte ikke med drap denne gangen, men igjen viser Koh Tao seg fra sin negative side. En britisk backpacker har blitt voldtatt og ranet etter at hun ble dopet etter å ha drukket en drink på Fishbowl Bar og deretter besøkte Leo Bar. Dette er nær stedet hvor et britisk par ble drept for 4 år siden på bestialsk vis.
Kvinnen forlot øya etter hendelsen i juni og politiet nektet å ta i mot noen detaljer om dette.
Moren til kvinnen var i kontakt med Fishbowl Bar for å kunne se overvåkningsvideo, men passende nok virket ikke overvåkningen den kvelden angrepet skal ha skjedd.

A British backpacker was raped and robbed after having her drink spiked on the same Thai island where tourist Hannah Witheridge was murdered.
The girl, who cannot be named, had travelled with friends from London to the notorious island of Koh Tao in June.
She had a drink in the Fishbowl Bar on Sairee Beach before visiting the Leo Bar - close to where the bodies of Hannah Witheridge and David Miller were found four years ago.
A friend also reported seeing the same man checking up on her as she left the bar that evening.
The girl left the island following her assault on June 26 and attempted to report her ordeal to the Koh Phangan police. Officers reportedly refused to take any details of the alleged rape.
The girl’s mother contacted the Fishbowl Bar and was told the CCTV cameras were not working on the night of the assault.
