“About one-third of the Delta cases were found in Bangkok and if these rates hold, the Delta variant will become the dominant variant in the capital, replacing the Alpha variant (first identified in the United Kingdom) within the next two to three months,” said Dr Supakit Sirilak, the DMSC’s Director-General.
https://www.thaienquirer.com/29070/delt ... ree-monthsThe DMSC said last week that available vaccines in Thailand, including AstraZeneca and Sinovac, are less effective against the Beta variant.
However, Dr Supakit said they are more concern over the spread of the Delta variant since the Beta variant is spreading slower than other variants and it is still mostly being contained within the Southern region.
“The one that we are concerning about is the Delta variant,” he said.
